SUBJECT:    EARTHQUAKE UPDATE NO. 3 AND INVITATION TO HOST CHRISTCHURCH MEMBERS.

We still await contact with Executive and Staff members of Sumner Redcliffs RSA due to ongoing communication problems but we have had some communication from the local community constable at Sumner and are more hopeful that everyone got out of the clubrooms. However, we still await the final clarification as are many families in Christchurch.

A number of local Associations have expressed the desire to host Christchurch veterans and members requiring a respite from the consequences of Tuesday’s earthquake and continuous aftershocks.

It is ideal that this opportunity is offered as soon as possible so National Office can collect the details for distribution through the RSAs of Christchurch. As we approach the end of a long and dark week for everyone in Christchurch and the nation it would be fitting to remember those who have perished in Christchurch and to pray for the survivors during the Remembrance Ceremony (The Ode Ceremony) in your RSAs tonight.
