The Regular Force Cadet Association

A Favoured Few -- New Zealand's Boy Soldiers 1948 - 1991

                                       Chairman’s Message February 2010

Greetings everybody.

I am pleased to report that the development of the website is almost complete.  You will notice that a new section has been added.   It has been allocated the title “Clubbies’ Corner and is intended as a chat centre where you can contact others from your Class with news and hang up those memories from those days you shared changing from schoolboys to soldiers and tradesmen in a comradeship which still joins you together today.

The Corner is being set up in Class Folders within the site but all are free to browse through and share the sentiments of others who spent this part of their lives in a like manner to yourself.  It should be enjoyable to reflect on how similar things were to your day and possibly jog your memory to contribute yourself.  This area is new so the final details for contributing are still being set up.  Full details will be issued in the May Newsletter.

Cadet Day has passed and some areas have reported back on their Observance

The Annual General Meeting will be held at the Palmerston North RSA on Saturday the 24th of July 2010. The meeting will commence at 10:30 am. In connection with this, Nominations for the Committee of the Regular Force Cadet Association are hereby called for and are to be with the Chairman by the 10th of May 2010.

Subscriptions: The subscription for the RF Cadet Association remains at $20-00 per annum.  If you did not receive a printed February Newsletter through the post you are not listed as a current financial member.

It is with sadness that we have lost more of our brothers in arms over the festive season and we extend our condolences to their families.  We also extend our concern and best wishes to all who are suffering from lapses in health.

Some Classes may be considering reunions or get-togethers for Anniversaries. Clubbies’ Corner may be of assistance to establish contact and exchange ideas on how and where to celebrate.

Best wishes to you all.

Jim Twist,
Chairman
