Whereabouts: Manawatu-Wanganui, New Zealand
Graduated ’63 while doing RFBasic 19, (an idea for apprentices that never lasted). Posted to Linton, posted in ’67 to 161 Bty Vietnam as Engr Att. Remarried in Nov 70, posted ANZUK Map Depot Singapore in ’71 for two years. Returned to 2 Fd Sqn, Linton, posted to SME then to 6 Sqn Petone, returning to 5 Spt Sqn in Linton for terminal posting. Retired out in ’82. Was invited to join the ATC NZCF where I was assigned to 10 Sqn ATC. Served 15 years while running my own businesses in Palmerston North.
Currently own and run a small printing business. Secretary of the Sprs Assoc and RNZE Reunion committees. Also the EVSA rep for the Manawatu.
Eldest daughter and grandkids living in Yukon, Canada. Son-in-law is a helicopter pilot. (Saving hard for a trip). Son and youngest daughter living around, and working at, Whakapapa.
Would I do it all over? Damned right!! Didn’t think much of clubbies while I was there, but it gave an extra edge to everything I’ve done since. Would like to know the whereabouts of Peter Kyle and Peter Smith (Peewee) both of my class. Cheers all, take care.
