After Cadets, came to Australia in 1973. Joined 11 RWAR in the WA Goldfields, Joined RAN in 1978 and served on HMAS Melbourne, Orion , Ovens as a stoker. Joined 16RWAR in 1987.
Am now the OC of 55 Army Cadet Unit and was promoted to Captain at a Parade near Perth on Saturday 01 Oct 05. Now I make sure my cadets have a lot of fun, hard work, discipline and are looked after. In between all this I worked as a surveyor for various companies and ran my brick laying/paving business. The most enjoyment is being involved with the Australian Army Cadets WA.
Where is Michael Grubb, my good mate in clubbies? There are other ex cadets running AAC units in WA. In a 16RWAR knockout competition it came down to ex RF Cadets. Not surprising.
I've been in Australia since the mid 70's served with 16 RWAR in two stints with a period in the RAN in between. I'm now working as a Prison Officer in the Eastern Goldfields. I have been involved with the Australian Army Cadets since 2000 and am the OC of 55ACU and 503 ACU in Kalgoorlie and Esperance with the rank of Captain, a task I find > extremely rewarding.
