Grad 80 in RNZEME as apprentice Auto elec. Up to A grade and Cpl, became dissatisfied with the way I was being treated by certain people in RNZEME and my career path going nowhere, so left in May 89. Couple of years in Melbourne, back to NZ for a few months, then off to the UK in 91. Enlisted into London Irish Rifles (TA) and spent 4 years as a Ranger/LCpl before re-enlisting into NZ Army in Jan 96, after being told conditions had improved (you think I'd have learned the first time). Definitely NOT into RNZEME. Currently living in Featherston, married, one son, Liam 8, and heading back to Timor for 2nd trip on 29 April.
