After graduating from Page class in 1977, I was posted to Fort Dorset as a Chef. Postings to Trentham, Singapore and Waiouru followed. After completing my apprentiship and the mandatory 2 year "payback" period I decided I needed to do something different, but wanted to stay in the Army. Now, those of you who knew me, and especially those who worked with me, know that at the end of the day, I really was a cr@p cook - so leveraging of the unpopularity that skill had provided, I joined the Military Police. Further postings to Waiouru, Singapore, Linton and Trentham followed. I finally called it quits in March 1992, after 15 years 3 months, when my wife was posted to New Caledonia with Foreign Affairs. After returning to NZ in 1994 I got a job at the Commerce Commission, where I stayed for 11 years. I am currently living in Wellington with my second wife, Maria and have two grown children from my first marriage. I am employed with Births, Deaths and Marriages at DIA as the Deputy Registrar-General/Operations Manager.
