I spent two and a bit years in the club and eight years in the Army. Then about a year and a half in the Police. Started with the power board in Raetihi in 1976. Still with them, now Powerco, as Group Team Leader in charge of Raetihi and Taihape depots, yeah, it includes Waiouru - have not moved far in nearly forty years. Left the Army at start of 75 and Joined Police. Spent about a year in Palmerston North with Police before deciding I was never meant to be a cop. Joined WREPB as trainee lineman in mid 76. Based in Raetihi and married my wife, Kathryn in same year. Did another apprenticeship as sparkie and still work for whats now called Powerco. Three kids, two moko. Live in the backblocks between Ohakune and Raetihi.
