Arrived in Waiouru on the train from Gisborne around midnight in January 1968 and it was freezing!!! but I grew to love it. I think most cadets would remember Waiouru as their introduction to Army life. I thoroughly enjoyed my time in cadets. Learning from senior cadets and RF Staff. Completed my Instructor's Course, progressed through the ranks to CSM of A Company and acting RSM for my own graduation in 1970. (This was a very proud moment for me). Posted to Burnham Military Camp prior to serving in Singapore/Malaysia/Vietnam. Left the Army in 1980
