I graduated into the RNZA and spent 1958-61 in Papakura, eventually with 161 Bty. I was posted to RF Depot in Jul 1961 and left there in March 1963 to join 2/2 NZ Regt at Burnham and went to Malaya in Nov 1963 with Gurr's Battalion. I was posted to the staff at Cadet School as a Pl Sgt and spent until Mid 1966 there and was posted to 161 Bty Depot prior to serving with 161 Bty as the BC's Survey Sergeant from Jan 67 - 31 Jan 68. I was then posted to 1 Loc Tp loanback to School of Artillery and was promoted to Radar SSgt and then TSM of 1 Loc Tp until May 1971. I was a spare WO2 around Waiouru for about 15 months and was then posted as BSM 32 (E) Bty at Addington from Aug 72 to May 76. I was then posted back to the School of Artillery and was promoted to WO1 in Apr 1977. I took a QM Commission in Nov 1977 and for my sins was posted as Admin Officer at Cadet School. In Dec 78 I was posted as Adjt Fort Dorset where I remained until Aug 81 when I took my release. I re-enlisted in January 83 and was posted as a staff officer to HQ ATG and in Sep 1986 was posted to Army GS and then Defence HQ in Apr 87 in the rank of Major as a staff officer. I was released on 8 Nov 1989 and worked for 11 years for Armourguard as an Armoured Car Officer. I retired completely in March 2003. I am currently divorced and living alone in Paraparaumu.
