I have moved. Now living in Brendale, North Brisbane. I had too much of looking after mature aged people, I even have trouble looking after myself now, driving buses and just trying to keep up with my four children. I would love to hear from ex clubbies. Please contact me on smithybigboy@bigpond.com See earlier entry for a realisation that people cannot read websites. Thanx Smitty (Ed). P.J. (Conan) SMITH pearce-1985 Joined RNZ Sigs in Hopu 2 after Cadets and departed in July 1992. Joined the United Nations Field Service as a U.N. Radio Operator and was posted to the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL). In May 93 I departed at short notice to United Nations Iraq / Kuwait Observation Mission (UNIKOM) along the Iraq/Kuwait border, initially supposed to stay 6 months, I ended up staying 5 years. Mid 95 branched out into asset control, receiving and inspection functions, and was responsible for checking all mission purchases. Mar 98 I was reassigned back to UNIFIL Procurement Section and managed the rations contracts for the 6700 strong UN force in South Lebanon. In Feb 2002 I was assigned to the Democratic Republic of Congo as Officer in Charge of General Services Section in one of the Brigade HQs, a role that involved mainly logistics type work but a fair bit of administration also. April 2004 assigned as Field Administrative Officer in Lubumbashi, DR of Congo where I am presently. Looking to return to NZ for good sometime in 2007 to be with my wife Amelia and sons David & Mathew.
