Nga mihi kia koutou katoa,e nga hoa tawhito, greetings to you all my old mates,I got out in 1985 after a T.O.D to Dieppe Barricks in Singas, with 1 battallion. After which I still had'nt got camaflouge out of my system,so I did a stint in the TF with 3Auck Nth Bn,which cured me of any homesickness I may have had for the millitary. I always look back fondly at my time in RFCS,and the army,as you do.I have moved on ,to learning about my Maori culture, something that has been more and more apparent to ones of our generation, lately. I attended the 50th reunion in Wellington, some of you may recall,Ilook forward to seeing you all at the 60th reunion in Palmerston North on Labour Weekend, good luck and all the best.Hau Pai Marire.

Hardy Hardwick (Webb class)

Well nearly 20yrs down the line and i'm finally getting round to doing this. After grad joined RNZEME with some rather notorious characters, they know who they are. After failing Trade Cert I realised that being a mechanic sucked and transferred to the Education Corps where I got to do sweet FA for 2 yrs. Got out in 90with no plans. Went to Uni that sucked. Got a few jobs around Auckland, they sucked as well. Moved to London in 99 and have been here ever since. I have been managing pubs around London and as of Sept 08 am buying my own pub with another ex pat kiwi. If you are ever in London drop me a line. There's always a free beer for an ex clubbie, except for Jock as I'm sure he still owes me a beer. Cheers lads all the best for the upcoming reunion. "Kiwi Phil" Hardwick. londonphil67@aol.com

M.W. Harris (Ngarimu class)

I didn't graduate but thoroughly enjoyed my time in the Cadets. I joined as EME but realised that this was not going to be the career for me and unfortunately, nothing else seemed attractive at the time. Worked in clothing industry for a number of years then radio for 20 yrs both on air and in management. Currently I own my own company based at Jade Stadium in ChCh operating Corporate hospitality for a number of sporting codes. Was contacted by Alan Hood ex Cadet 1970 and suggested I visit the RF Cadet web site. How many out of the old class are left? malcolmh@corporatehost.co.nz

Still at it (love driving) Have three Children and eight Grandchildren. I am on my 2nd Marriage, to my childhood sweetheart and we are currently living in Cambridge. e mail address telstar22@xtra.co.nz

P.D. Harris (Bennett class)

"Currently living in Christchurch, as I have since returning from Waiouru in 1965. Working as a Hotel Broker sellling Hotels throughout the South Island. Really keen on lawn bowls (no it's not an old mans game) and travel around playing in tournaments. Enjoy visiting the website and keeping up to date with happenings."

Shayne John Leonard Harris (Hasset class)

I went in at 17 and its just over 17 years ago. That makes me feel old - only Im 35 ! It was a rought time in RFC - but it taught me a lot about determination and getting on with others. The most useful thing I found was that 'It was not the size of the dog in the fight, but rather the size of the fight in the dog.'

Left RFC (Medically Discharged about September/October with a slashed cornea). Worked as a fitter welder for 3 years. Then a mechanic for Nissan New Zealand for 5 years. I own my own IT company & specialize in remote router communications. I have a 10 acre farm in Rotorua, a great wife, 2 kids and another due.

We were sometimes jerk-offs to others in RFC. So, if a Darryl Cotham is around my apoligies for being a stupid kid.

Regards

Peter Harris (Bennett class)

Once my army career was over I got married, had 4 children, and continued my trade as an electrician. Eventually joined the TAB and filled a number of roles in this organization over 25 yrs.
Now works for Bayleys Estate in Christchurch as a hotel broker which I really enjoy.
