P.F. Mclaughlin (Elliot class)

Grad 80 in RNZEME as apprentice Auto elec. Up to A grade and Cpl, became dissatisfied with the way I was being treated by certain people in RNZEME and my career path going nowhere, so left in May 89. Couple of years in Melbourne, back to NZ for a few months, then off to the UK in 91. Enlisted into London Irish Rifles (TA) and spent 4 years as a Ranger/LCpl before re-enlisting into NZ Army in Jan 96, after being told conditions had improved (you think I'd have learned the first time). Definitely NOT into RNZEME. Currently living in Featherston, married, one son, Liam 8, and heading back to Timor for 2nd trip on 29 April.

D.C. Mclay (Morrison class)

After 26 1/2 years (after taking 12 months off for good behaviour somewhere in the middle), I finally left the good ol' NZ Army. Before leaving I overheard an old soldier (done 3-4 years) saying that the Army owed him heaps. I am sorry to say that he was corrected and that after all my time in the Army, they owed me nothing and I owed them nothing. I am thankful for everything my time in the Army gave me, and still keep in touch with a few of the old Morrison Class lads. However, it would be even better to catch up with some of those that haven't been seen for a while. Clubbies are everywhere, I came across two of my classmates in Afghanistan after all these years, and the bond never fades. Forte Fortuna Juvat

R.H. McPherson (Page class)

After graduating from Page class in 1977, I was posted to Fort Dorset as a Chef. Postings to Trentham, Singapore and Waiouru followed. After completing my apprentiship and the mandatory 2 year "payback" period I decided I needed to do something different, but wanted to stay in the Army. Now, those of you who knew me, and especially those who worked with me, know that at the end of the day, I really was a cr@p cook - so leveraging of the unpopularity that skill had provided, I joined the Military Police. Further postings to Waiouru, Singapore, Linton and Trentham followed. I finally called it quits in March 1992, after 15 years 3 months, when my wife was posted to New Caledonia with Foreign Affairs. After returning to NZ in 1994 I got a job at the Commerce Commission, where I stayed for 11 years. I am currently living in Wellington with my second wife, Maria and have two grown children from my first marriage. I am employed with Births, Deaths and Marriages at DIA as the Deputy Registrar-General/Operations Manager.

Mac McQueen (Elliot class)

Still consider myself a clubbie through and though. I reckon I could still do my drill on the parade ground. My coat hangers still have 2 finger spaces between them and all face the same way. I don't have smiles in my socks any more but show my kids what we had to do for a laugh. I have had my kids 'stand to beds' and inspect their rooms - they loved it. Played golf with WO 2 Hamond a little while back. I work with John Pasene aka "French" and we often talk of the good times in the hole of New Zealand Waiouru.
