M. Severs (Weir class)

"Discharged from RNZE in 1961 to try primary teaching but didn't like it so travelled for three years before enrolling at Canterbury University; ending with an MA in History. Subsequent career in print and radio journalism in NZ, Oz and the UK. Currently retired after 14 years as News Editor of the Press Association and happy running my own Graphic Design business. NZ marriage foundered (surprise, surprise) in 1973 but remarried Pommy girl and still with her, two dogs, two horses and an eight acre small holding 25miles south of London. Would like to hear from anyone I knew, and particularly anyone who was also a friend of Brian Sloper as I was very upset when reading about his death. Finally, Gus Thomas, if you're out there, get in touch!!"

Michael B. Shearer (Williams class)

Graduated in to the RNZAC, and reached the rank of Sgt before leaving the army in December 2004 to pursue a career in Civil Engineering based in Otaki ( Kapiti Coast ). I've served on three operational tours, two to Bosnia (1994-95, 1999-2000), and one to East Timor in 2001. I have spent all but one year in Waiouru, and it may sound odd...but I miss the place. I have a wife and one son (Tracey & Richmond), as well as an alaskan Malamute dog which I hope to sled race when she's mature. I have played rugby league for two provinces, and selected for the army team but didn't play for the army as it clashed with a provincial match. Love fishing, motorbikes, mountain biking (novice),cabinet making among other things. left the army as I didn't like the direction the new army was going, but had things remained the same, there's no doubt I'd still be there. Give us an e-mail if you want to get in touch. e-mail address is qaarnie@hotmail.com

Graduated to the RNZAC. Spent all my time in Waibaria, and actually like the place. Have had two postings to Bosnia (94-95, 99-2000), and am waiting to go to Timor in May (joy). Really looking forward to the death of my corps at the end of the year, thanks to our beloved CGS & Co. Married to Leigha in Dec' 00, great day it was too. Not a bad little Army we have, leaning a bit too heavily on the touchy/feely side lately though. Interested in hearing from any ex clubbies. E-mail is pukapuka08@hotmail.com.

Chogi Sheldon (Burrows class)

Graduated Cadets 1975 into RNZEME. Did stints in Trentham, Waiouru, Fort Dorset. Left the services at the end of 1986 after almost 13 years. Fell into computing during my last 5 years and have remained in that industry ever since. Onto wife number three. No kids from first, two grown ups from second (20 and 18) and a 2.5 year old from current (and last). After wondering listlessly through life I believe I am finally happy with mine. I look back with fond memories on my time in the services and especially cadets. No intentions of returning to NZ. Too good a life here in Oz. Email is chogi@bigfoot.com for those who what to keep in touch.

D.A. Simpson (Thorpe class)

Cadets was great, I made a hell of a lot of good friends and I am still in contact with a number from our class. My best memory is of John Vatuitui whispering insults in my ear on the parade ground. I enjoyed browsing through the site and will be telling all my ex and current RFCS friends that I am in contact with about it. I live in Perth WA and have at least 5 friends over here from my class alone. Thanks for your time and effort. email: sgtsimo@hotmail.com
