Thought I would add my name to the list of illustrious ex soldiers who managed to survive 2 years in the RNZ Cadets. I left the army in 1987 after 10 enjoyable years in RNZCT and worked a few years in the trucking game before deciding to make my home in Australia. I am married with one 10yr old daughter and have resided on the Gold Coast for 18 yrs. Have worked in manufacturing for the majority of that time including 9 years with Colgate Palmolive. Am currently completing my training at the Qld Police Academy to become a Police Officer.(can't stay out of uniform) | ||

H.A.H. Dixon (Allen class)Had a great time in Cadets in Trentham posted to ND COY RNZASC Papakura then to Ngaruawahia Disc 55, rejoined 57 1 RNZIR. RNZ SIGs on RTNZ 59 did various courses , postings and exercises. HQNZVFORCE 71. Took discharge 77. Left NZ for AUST via Tonga by yacht 85. About Tony Name A.W. Dodd Class Barrowclough (1965) After Graduation went in RNZ Signals serving with a rather unique Unit 31 Medium Radio Sub Troop in Addington Military Barracks. I married a service woman Annette Pont a fellow Communications Operator. A posting to 1 Recce Sqn NZ Scots at Burnham in 71 was very interesting for a TG Operator. Left the Army in 1976 after 10 years service. Serious middle management Occupations for a few years until I purchased a yacht in 1987 and set sail in 1988 for the Pacific and Island hopped until 1997 when I returned to New Zealand sold my Yacht and took up residency in Whangarei. I'm now working as a musician, a solo act called 'Ace High' playing Rock and Roll type music. | ||

Hey all the boys from Webb class. Good to see some of the old names, so many memories aye! Ha ha, gee they were goodtimes! Me, well left in 86, mucked around NZ till 90, then went to Aussie. Got a job at a casino in Tasmania, and stayed there for 14 years. Moved to another casino in Adelaide in 04, then left in 06 and moved to Cairns to return to uni and finish degree. Been out of Aussie travelling and going to uni in Singapore and Germany. In Berlin now, returning to Aussie soon. Hopefully will make it back for the reunion... drop me a line boys!

I am married with 2 son that have left home. I have just taken early retirement from the Prison Service . My wife and I are now running a small lifestyle and a craft manufactoring venture. Since leaving the Army in 1971 I have worked for the Justice Department and Corrections Department. Now days most of my time is taken up with my wee farm and producing crafts. P.J. Duggan (Gentry class)Left the army in 1987, went to work at Academy New Zealand as the founding Registrar of The Christchurch Academy. Stayed there for 9 years then went to the ChCh RSA as Secretary/Manager. Spent 6 years there and then back to the Academy where I am still employed. RSA is my other (unpaid) job. I'm the Canterbury District President and enjoying it and the challenges it throws my way from time to time. Happily married to Elly (44 years this April). Kids all married and left home and have given us the best grandchildren in the world. Wrote a book about my 2 tours in Vietnam. It's called 'What have they done to the Rain?' and it's a bloody good read. I have copies @ $20 each plus postage. Gentry Class Rules!

Brian Phillip Duncan (Young class)
"Brion graduated into the Royal New Zealand Provost Corps in 1955. In 1957 was posted to Malaya in the original 1 NZ Regt as the Regimental Provost Sergeant.He left the Army and joined the New Zealand Police on return from active service. He worked the beat in Wellington and then transferred to the CIB.Served in Cyprus with the UN Civilian Police Unit in 1965. Was the NZ Police Liaison Officer in South East Asia from 1978-81. Was progressively Director of Drug Enforcement; Director of Intelligence; Director of Training; Commander, South Auckland Division; Commander, Special Services, Auckland; and Head of Human Resources, Police National HQ. In 1991-92 was seconded to the United Nations for law enforcement duties in refugee camps on the Thai/Cambodia border. Returned to NZ as Assistant Commissioner, Auckland. Retired from that position in late 1997. Shortly afterwards, was sent to Bougainville by NZ Govt to report upon policing services on the island. From 1999 to 2002 was contracted by the United Nations to deliver drug enforcement training and advice in Cambodia, China, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam. Now lives in Auckland with Joan, his wife for 39 years." | ||
